BELOW ARE SEVERAL CATEGORIES OF FAQ'S

  • How do I become a member?
Our "rules" for membership are pretty simple. 1) You must love playing golf, 2) You must be invited by an existing member and play at least one round with our group After that, simply ask for us to add you to our list, and you're in!
  • Why do members have to play at least one round with the group before joining?
Simple. We want new members to understand the group and know what to expect before joining. As we discuss under the rules section of the FAQ's, our group is not a super-competitive, buy-the-rules group. We're as much about having a good time as we are about golf. It would not be fair to the long time members, nor to the new member if newcomers began trying to change the nature of what we have been for over thirty years.
  • Once I indicate I'd like to be a member, what happens? How do I set up my Password?
Our webmaster will take your information, mostly your email and telephone number, and add you to our website with member privileges. This means you'll be able to log into the site to sign up to play each week, and you'll begin getting our communications. The website also provides ways you can communicate with the Pairing Coordinators as well as each other. The website will send out a notification when you are added asking you to set up a password. Please go ahead and do that because the only way you can register is to be a member of the site and therefore, the group. To set your new password 1) Go to the website and click the menu dropdown menu on your mobile device, otherwise you should see a log-in link at the top of the web page on your computer. This image shows the mobile version. 2) Next click on Log in (iPhone screen shown below) 3) The click on "Forgot my Password". This will result in you getting an email with a password reset link. MAKE SURE TO USE THE SAME EMAIL FOR THE RESET LINK AS YOU RECEIVED THE INVITATION ON.
  • How do I get on the ARGG Mailing List?
Easy. When you indicate you want to join one of our Coordinators can add you to the website. You'll get a notice when you have been added. Our second mailing list on Mailchimp is updated separately. Normally that is done at the same time, but since it is a manual process...mistakes are made. Let us know if you are not getting your emails. Use this email to let us know of any problem: Playgolftuesday@gmail.com
  • How do I update my ARGG Profile and why?
    We recommend that you do update your website profile and make it "public" so other members can see your name. If you keep your profile private then all that will show up when you register is the first part of your email address. When we say make it "public" it will not be seen by anyone visiting the website. The only people seeing your information will be other members. Here is a video on updating your profile on Spaces, the mobile app;
  • Can I see who else has signed up for next week?
Yes you can. You can do it on both the website and on Spaces, our mobile app. Watch this video.
  • Latest Posts
The site home page contains post for all members under the heading banner. We encourage members to check out these posts as they announce things that are important, such as the coming round, changes in times and venues, and important member events.
  • I've signed in...now what?
Go to the Member's page on the website and you'll see a number of things. 1. If you click on your profile information on the top right, where you originally signed in, you can update your profile, and read any notifications you might have. 2. Click on Menu and you'll be able to access the registration page to sign up to play, as well as participate in groups (chats/discussions), and view the contact information for our Coordinators...handicaps, schedule, treasurer, pairings. 3) On the Members page you will also find a link our schedule of places were are playing this year. 4) finally at the bottom of the member's page you will see profiles for everyone in the group. If they have decided to allow us to see their contact information then you will be able to contact each other. 5) If you are a member with a "Coordinator" Role assigned you will be able to access the Pairing Coordinator Page. • What are Groups and how do they work?
We have a groups area on the website that we'll try out to see if we find a real benefit. In theory they may be an interesting way to stay in touch with one another, post announcements and have other benefits. At the moment members get added to the website manually, and this is also true for groups. Posting is possible for anyone on the group. Start a discussion on any topic you'd like. We can also form other groups besides the general group you will find as we start up the site. For example there is a Thursday golf group that meets up. They could have their own group on this site.
  • How do I modify my Profile, and why do it?
Every member of the website has a profile that they can see when they sign in. They can opt to hide their profile or make all, or parts of it, visible to the other members. We strongly encourage every member to update their profile with contact information so that we might be able to get ahold of you should we have to. Of course that is up to you. You can learn more about updating your profile here.
  • Register to play
We've made it so you'll have to sign in to register to play. That is to prevent unknown characters from playing games to sign up. When you sign in you'll also be able to see who is coming.
  • Why is the Pairing Coordinator Page restricted?
That page has links to several files used in creating the weekly pairings. There is nothing sensitive on those files but that can be mishandled without some knowledge which would require us restoring them. Its just safer to make sure that folks dealing with those files know what they are doing.
  • Where can I find a list of all the videos for Members"
We have a playlist with all our members videos. Click on the "hamburger menu" in the top right corner of the thumbnail below to see the list.
  • I'm not getting my emails, what happened?
If you were getting our emails from mail chimp and they stopped, here is what you should do: 1) Make sure they aren't going into your trash or junk folder. Unfortunately when someone in our group moves one of our emails into junk, that action sends a signal back to Mailchimp that their emails are going into Spam. "Junk" IS NOT THE SAME AS "Trash". When someone in our group puts one of our emails into their junk folder(Spam) folder, various spam filters get updated and we start seeing emails automatically being filtered into the spam folders for other members. Check your spam/junk folder and if you find our email there then simply move it back to your inbox. This sends a signal out that the email is not spam. 2) If you cannot find our emails in trash or spam then it is probably because somehow you unsubscribed from the list. That may have happened simply because you inadvertently clicked on the unsubscribe link, but may also have happened because your email system "bounced" our email several times. Bounces usually happen with incorrect email addresses, but may happened due to filters in your email provider. We cannot control bounces. If Mailchimp detects a number of bounces it will automatically unsubscribe you. If you aren't seeing emails act quickly and let us know playgolftuesday@gmail.com 3) Finally, you can re-subscribe yourself. We can not re-subscribe someone who has chosen to leave, but you may sign up again. The link to re-subscribe is here:
